Polished hotel offering ocean views, an indoor pool & a restaurant, plus relaxed rooms & suites.

Excellent hotel and gorgeous interior! Few minutes from town center, fantastic breakfast! Bed was extremely comfortable and all the pillows were great! There’s a valet for the car, which was a great! Would definitely stay here again!

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, from the front desk staff, to the valets. Very attentive. Breakfast staff was great. The bar staff was inattentive, unable to get wine refills. Dinner was without water or wine. Unable to pay bill or get another glass of wine. Decided to just give up and head to my room.Dinner at the bar was delicious, just couldn’t get staff to acknowledge my existence.

Our room had the view of the ocean and it was beautiful! Breakfast was perfect every day, lots of choices, everything was fresh and delicious. Rooms were clean and comfortable! Very friendly and polite staff.

Good location but rooms are small and could have been cleaner when we first arrived (it felt like they didn't vacuum or weren't super attentive prior to us arriving). If you want a larger room upgrade to a suite if you have a lot of luggage to accommodate not being on top of each other. If you have a car I would definitely recommend valeting it as parking is hard to come by in this location and the valet is affordable.Free breakfast, great staff and overall good hotel.

We had an amazing day at this hotel! Our favorite part, hands down, was the Ocean pool across the street. Every morning we would wake up and enjoy the complimentary breakfast buffet, then immediately grabbed towels and go across the street for a glorious swim in the saltwater open pool. 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️👙🏊‍♀️🐬🥽

I can’t express how fantastic the entire staff is at this hotel. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed with such kindness and warmth. Everyone from front desk, porters, bellman, bartenders, waitstaff and cleaning staff were all so lovely and all went above and beyond to make my trip memorable. The staff set up tours and offered activity suggestions as well as their local favorites to help create a wonderful vacation. The location of the hotel is fantastic, close to the airport and a central starting point to go off and do any tours of the island you can imagine. This is hospitality done very well!!! Can’t recommend this place enough! But truly the staff are the absolute gem of this place. Obrigado!!!!!

The room was well-equipped, and the staff was helpful and welcoming. The breakfast food was exquisite. However, my only regret is that the gym room was lacking proper workout machines. It's disappointing for a 5-star hotel.

My husband and I stayed at Grand Hotel for 4 nights and do not have anything negative to say! This hotel is definitely worthy of the 5 stars, from the clean rooms and modern facilities to the central location in walking distance to many restaurants in Ponta Delgada to the friendly and welcoming staff. I especially want to highlight the staff who went above and beyond to assist wherever needed to make sure our stay was enjoyable - we arrived before check in but they allowed us to use the showers and pool which is a game changer after a long flight, we were celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary and they prepared champagne and chocolate in our room, and the morning of our departure we said we needed to leave at 6am and they prepared a breakfast station just for us with coffee and pastries! we also paid a little extra for the valet service which was worth it in my opinion: our car was waiting for us whenever we needed it and the car was refilled with water bottles each day! Overall, an outstanding experience 😊

We had a great experience during our one week stay at the Grand Hotel Açores. Our ocean view room was very nice (and clean of course). The service/staff at the hotel set it apart from others we have visited. Everyone was extremely friendly (always greeting us and holding the door) and always made sure that we were enjoying our stay. The hotel is perfectly situated in Ponta Delgada and it is well accommodated. The lobby is beautiful and comfortable. The lobby bar serves great cocktails (often with live music). And the restaurant in the hotel is a must for anyone looking for a quality dining experience. We hope to be back for a stay again in the future.

GREAT hotel in the center of all the activity in Sao Miguel Island with amazing views of the harbor. Beautiful interior with clean rooms and wonderful staff, the staff were very accommodating and helped us check in extra early after a long flight and set up a breakfast station just for us at 5am in the morning for our departure. The hotel is close to all the main activities on the island, most tours will pick you up directly at the hotel. Hotel is within walking distance of the town center and all the restaurants. Will definitely stay again during our next visit!

The Grand Hotel Açores Atlantico is a very nice hotel. Our room with a balcony and view on the sea was very comfortable and nice. Service was also friendly and fine. Breakfast was good but we would have appreciated more variety (especially if one stay there for more than 5 days). There is a nice indoor pool.Only flaw: the gym: lack of equipments and the few that they had were not working properly.... That was a shame and disappointing for an hôtel of this standard..

We have stayed at this hotel on several visits to San Miguel. I would highly recommend it. The location is very central to everything. All the staff are very professional and always there to help in any way they can. The beds are extremely comfortable with an array of different pillow choices. I highly recommend you stay at this hotel. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back again.

Came here for our honeymoon and we were blown away by the service, the rooms, and the overall attentiveness of the staff. The views are hard to beat and we loved how walkable everything was from this hotel! If you have a car and choose to forgo valet, parking can be difficult at times but wasn’t a deal breaker. Highly recommend for anyone to stay at in Azores!

We were immediately impressed with every element of this hotel: the location is excellent, the staff so helpful and friendly, the dinner and breakfast were good, and the room was spacious with an extra large bed, Nespresso machine, balcony, newly renovated bathroom. There were several pillow types on the bed and a pillow menu, and a chocolate on the pillow every night. We parked under the neighbouring hotel, which was easy enough. I would highly recommend it.

Loved this hotel! Amazing service from the moment we booked until the moment we departed.I had sent several emails about helping with restaurant reservations and transfers and the staff helped me within 24 hours. The locationis central, you can walk pretty much everywhere in Ponta Delgada from the hotel, it also is only about 10 minutes to the airport. On arrival the hotel had a lovely scent throughout, our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and 3 pillows each to choose from (they even have a pillow menu). It was also very quiet, we never heard another guest. The terrace was spacious with chairs and a small table with a great view to people-watch everyone hanging around the ocean. We didn't eat at the restaurant but went to the bar a few times, drinks were lovely. If you need an ice bucket/ice you just have to go to the bar and ask (instead of waiting for them to send it upstairs).Whenever we had a question the lobby staff was fast to answer and there was never a wait. We didn't use the gym but swam in the pool one day, it was very warm and there weren't any other guests there when we visited. The only thing that could be improved (others have said it in their reviews) is the breakfast. There should be more hot options or an a la carte menu to order from. As well as a menu of drinks on offer. There were carts with drinks but we weren't sure what they were and there was limited hot food at the buffet. When we come back to San Miguel we will be staying here.

Great Hotel, the rooms are modern, the beds are comfortable and everything is in order working and clean in the rooms. The swimming pool is very nice, clean and the decking is new and stylish. The restaurant and bar serve great food and the service is outstanding. Overall the service is really great. Starting with the cleaning Team, the front desk the doormen and the staff in the restaurant. I would come back here without hesitation. Great Hotel where you miss nothing. Some 5* German hotels can learn a view things here.

A really great hotel! And was fun that it's right across from an area where you can dip into the ocean. Very good location to walk to any restaurant. The valets are wonderful -- they made sure our car had water every day and offered wonderful recommendations of how to tour around the island. Staff was super accommodating and the turndown service was great. Good place to stay on the island for sure!

Simply beautiful,Definitely pricey,The food and drinks at the bar were delish.I did feel bad for the staff that handled our luggage. It was really warm outside, they were wearing these outfits that should only be worn in the cold winter. That really needs to be changed to something cooler than a top hat and heavy clothing. Just to impress the guest, when all I did was feel sorry they had to wear those hot costumes/ uniform.Hopefully next time I visit, I won't see the men and women sweating in those uniforms.

Great hotel. Sonia at the front desk was very accommodating and was able to get us an early check in!Very comfy beds, and great harbor view from our room! The room was also very clean.Location was great as well, just a short walk to everything. Breakfast buffet was also very good!!

Excellent hotel. All staff were pleasant and looked like they were enjoying there jobs no request was too small.Rooms of good size and amenities in bathroom plentiful.Hotel was clean throughout.Breakfast was good and varied.Bar snacks were a feast.Receptionists on our last day saw we had a problem with our transfer but soon dealt and sorted it efficiently.

Amazing hotel with outstanding service! Unlike the whole of Portugal where people are not aware of what it means to provide service - this hotel knows. They solve every problem! You need a car to rent - not a problem (and they will not give you a tourist price) you need an island map - not a problem, book a trip - in a second! The only downside of our trip was a room without a balcony. Next time I will ask for a room with a balcony and hope they will be flexible to find a solution for a family of 3 with a kid :) Highly recommend this hotel!

I would give the service 4 maybe 5 stars because of the front desk and restaurant staff but the reason why I give it 2 stars is for the housekeepers. My wife and I spent a week on the island and stayed here for 3 days, the first day we did not get maid service the second day we allowed them to service our room and it was the biggest mistake we made of the entire trip. The morning after we woke up from having the housekeeping service we both woke up sick, my wife much worse than I. It seemed strange to us that we woke up sick for no reason, but when we left the room we saw why.A few of the house keepers were in the hallways literally and I mean literally coughing all over the carts that hold all the clean sheets, towels, etc. and not just a regular cough, I'm talking about a nasty loud sick cough using the carts to hold them up and they hacked their lungs up all over the clean items on their cart. Through the first and second day we were here we heard loud sick coughs but we thought it was other guests, we found out it was not. My wife now is so sick she is throwing up, has a pounding headache, and is coughing like the housekeepers now. This was the most disgusting experience I have ever had worse than any 1 star hotel. I am beyond furious and disgusted, what kind of people would do something like that, just openly spreading their sickness, we trust in these people to clean our rooms while we are away and this is what we get. Something like this should never happen or be allowed, I understand if you're sick but need to work to make money I've been there but to be completely unsanitary like this is a slap in the face to every guest and takes away all trust.I don't know what else to say but don't stay here do whatever you can to avoid this place if possible. Also, the breakfast is terrible, that was originally the only bad thing I was going to write about the hotel until this disrespectful act happened.
